INtel pro set because it tells you more information about the wireless network that you are connected to

Windows Zero Config in my mind.

ProSet dropped connections, signal quality was lower and took more memory to run -- basically it was completely useless.

    Just my opinion, though.

I say intel... more user friendly, easier to set up profiles, nice icon in systray. If you are experience with wifi networks, then MS might be better since it doesn't take up as much memory.

I still go with Intel no matter what. I just like it better.

I believe you can uninstall the Intel software. All you need to do is uninstall Intel ProSet Wireless in add/remove programs. This still should leave the driver. You can also change Intel in add/remove and if I remember right, there is an option to select so that it doesn't install the software.

The intelproset gives you more detail and is easier to use

Per SG above, yes, you can uninstall the client software and leave the driver.

My only caveat with what was said was the easier to use part. I think they are both about the same. Its pretty easy to just click connect on the pop-up. :p

As far as more details, I don't ever look at 'em anyway. :D

I tried both and Windows software works best for me. I delete the Intel software and was able to get rid of about 6 proccesses with it. No problems with either one, but Windows Zero Config was less bulky.

I can't stand the Intel Proset personally. I don't like extra processes running that take up that much memory, and I have had a better stability using Windows managing it.
