    hi,

i'm currently eyeing on dell notebooks, but am confused with which type/model to purchase. basically, i'll use the notebook for financial calculation (excel), thus RAM (256/512) will be one of my concerns. i also regularly surf through the internet and do quite a lot of e-mailings. will be using ms office quite heavy (word, excel, powerpoint), and probably 50% of my time will be on the move (hence, centrino would be preferable).

can anyone please advise me which model will best suit my needs above? dell offers quite a lot of options, but i'd like to get the best deal out of my money. [ :)]

    rgds,

I would suggest starting with the Inspiron 600m. Fairly light, good battery life and would easily do all the tasks you require.
