I'm looking for a mouse for the Vostro 1400 with XP Pro. Are you using one that doesn't have conflicts or problems? Thanks.

I'm using the basic wired optical USB Microsoft Mouse for $20 with no problems and with no special drivers. Cursor moves fine, left and right clicking is fine, scroll well works fine and the scroll button is working. No reason to believe it wouldn't work with XP Pro when it works with XP Home.

What specific type of mouse are you looking for, though? Basic just so it works or fancy gaming mouse?

Thanks Apollo. I'll use it for travel and at home away from the desk - photo work and Internet. I'm not into gaming. It needs to be good for righties and lefties. I'm more concerned that it be accurate and not have issues with sleep mode or erratic speed spurts that some have had with some models.

    I highly recommend this mouse.

I don't even take out the wireless receiver dongle when I pack the laptop away, as it's so damn small.

I love my Kensington i75c. It is selling for about 15 dollars at circuit city right now, but its a wireless optical mouse. You just take the USB dongle out from underneath the mouse(it fits into a slot under the mouse). taking the dongle out starts the mouse(batteries) and plug it in and its ready to go. If you finish your batteries, you can just use the mouse as a wired mouse, you just plug in the mouse to its usb dongle(mini usb) and your ready to go.

    You should check it out.

Thank you. I really like the look of the tiny dongle on the Logitech mouse. We'll take a look and see if we can find one of each to hold and try out. They have such different shapes that it would be good to compare.

I'm using a wireless optical travel mouse that I picked up at Big Lots (formerly Pick And Save) for $8. No Problems :)
