few days until the announcement of SZ6 so in sony forum many people would go woth SZ6 over m1330, I made this post to discuss which one costs more? which one is better? and so on...

    Let's Start with my opinion:
m1330 is the king of all 13.3" and the price would be the same but the shipping date is the problem until now.

I already placed the order for the Dell m1330 before I knew of the existence of the SZ6. The m1330 looks more stylish, and has a lower starting price (based off of what I saw at the Sony website).

I purchased an m1330, but if the SZ6 had been released at the time, I probably would have gone with the Sony. I like the sony screen, the hybrid HD and the hybrid GPU. Ultimately though it doesn't really matter because I can upgrade the Dell HD later on my own (which is difficult to do on the Sony) and I'd probably end up using my computer exclusively in one graphics mode anyway, because I wouldn't want to be restarting all the time. Also, the new SZ picked up some heft so any weight/size advantage Sony used to have is gone.

The Dell also has an HDMI port which is nice.

I wish the sony was cheaper then I could cancel my order for the m1330 due to the horrendious delivery dates.. but i've gotten too much discount to care :p

I heard Hybrid HD's don't help much tho... but thats what I've seen from reading the reviews on newegg.com and such.

I'm getting an M1330, but having a Poll in the Dell forum about buying Dell machines vs. other is about as biased as you're going to get :D

I would chose the Dell over the Sony as the warranty in Canada sucks for Sony you have to send it off and it could be gone for weeks, whereas the Dell is next business day onsite. Also the Sony costs more.

i think the price is the same for configured dell and sony but the only difference is that m1330 has lower starting from price for lower specs.

I already ordered an M1330 but at the speed things are going (or rather, not going) I might end up with an SZ6. I'd rather pay a bit more to have a laptop rather than an order tracking page.

Well since I avoid all Sony products like the plague, I would definitely be getting the m1330 and have already ordered it anyway.

Do you even need to bother posting a poll like this in the Dell section?

LOL, yes. yes i did say that.

Actually I'm a convert from Gateway. I used to own a Gateway M320X which was perfect for my needs. However... 3 years after I had bought it the computer just died. Hence why I'm searching for a new laptop. I wasn't even considering Dell a couple weeks ago. I was thinking of either a MacBook or the Sony C series.

Here I am now just twiddling my thumbs waiting for the M1330 to arrive on my doorstep...
