I just ordered an e1705 and I took the dell wireless card, now I started wondering if there's any advantage of taking the Intel wireless card they offer there ($29 upgrade)? If so, what's the difference?

The Intel card works better I think but I would try to find a few reports about how well the card performs.

In what terms does "work better" translates to?

I just received an I6400 a week or so ago and I ordered the Intel Nexgen N card and my father-in-law has the I9200 with the standard dell wireless card. While the I9200's dell card is good and doesn't usually have any issues. I have noticed that it does drop connections once in a while.
While using the Intel N card, I find it connects fast and has not dropped a connection ever. Now I'm wondering if that has just to do with the card, of if Vista is helping to keep a solid connection with it's improved networking features. I say you upgrade your card to the Intel N card.. it's worth the ~$20.
The only problem I have is that it won't connect at 'N' speeds or using the 'N' protocol to my DLink wireless N router. I'm guessing since it's a Pre-N router, that the specifications aren't matching up. Either way, the G connection is solid.
My 0.02 cents. -
I mean better connections and longer distances, less "dropped calls," and an overall faster throughput. Not to mention less power hungry.
which wireless card to chose on e1705?
