on the us site, the studio only goes up to the t9300 and the aussie site offers t9500 but has no option fr blu ray reader. And the us has the option for the blu ray. The uk site is also one of the only ones to offer 7200rpm hds and neither the usa and aussie site offer those. This is really frustrating as i need bluray, 2.6ghz and 7200rpm drives and i can only buy from rhe aus site. Can anyone explain this confusion?

I don't know about the configuration options but just so you know; There is virtually NO speed difference between the t9500 and the t9300. Getting the t9500 is just a huge waste of money. Just so you know. I honestly don't see why anybody would get a t9500 as it's usually ~ $100-200 more than the t9300.

The reason that it has different options is that Dell markets different configurations to different parts of the world based on that market's demand of the hardware and what their other lineups (XPS, Latitude, etc.) offer.
So that is probably why they have all of the different options for different countries...
Hope this helps! -
so no chance of dell letting aussies have the ability to get a bluray drive wit the studio after the monty refresh in july?

on us they have accories like mouse, headphone, speakers, usb key that goes with color of the studio that is very nice. But on french or Uk siter there is no such option
and the laptop with saame config is horribily expnesive on french site compare to US site.

Dell cycles what they offer as options every few weeks on their websites, just wait or call them and configure it with a sales rep and the option will be there.
why are all the configurations options all weird for the studio 17
