Is there a way to control, which is turned on and off and make it turn off and on separatelly? (bluetooth and wifi). I know some computers have a utility for that and a key shortcut. a link for any app for XPS 1530 would be appretiated....

I have Vostro 1500 and there is a switch on it to power on and off the wireless radios, and the switch function can be defined in BIOS settings to switch on/off WiFi or Bluetooth, or both together.

Yes, and it included with your M153O. It's called QuickSet, by Dell, and is usually found in your system tray. Mouse over each icon in the tray until you see a description that reads QuickSet. If you can't find it, check your Start * Programs Menu for Dell QuickSet, and launch that.

In Dell QuickSet, you will have the ability to change what the hardware switch should control. You can also do so in the BIOS, but QuickSet is easier to change back and forth if you want to experiment or change frequently.

thanks, I know about that, but I cant figure out how to set a new shortcut key in there. Is there a way to easily (by Fn + smth) switch between: 1.) wifi bt off 2) wifi on, bt off 3)bt on, wifi off 4) both on

Now that you mention it, my "networking" in QS is empty - but maybe I have an old version for my Vista x64.

Try downloading the latest version of QuickSet from Dell's support site.

in control panel do you have the bluetooth options icon? if not reinstall ur bluetooth drivers. Upon doing so just go into the bluetooth options in the control panel and select turn off bluetooth. Walla bluetooth and wifi can be controlled manually and individually.

Do I need to do anything special to be able to activate the bluetooth on my newly acquired laptop?
Any advice welcome as I've only just upgraded from a very old Latitude CPi and the difference is awesome!

one more thing, when I set the brightness to a certain level, close the lid and then open it again, it is automatically switched to maximum brightess after opening....even though the settings just before closing was completely different....does anyone has the same problem? (I blame Dell QuickSet again.... :-/ )
