i have an inspiron 1720 running vista 32 bit.

i've just popped the hood to change my wifi card from b/g to b/g/n and i've noticed 2 empty slots.

after some googling i was thinking of getting an intel 4gb turbo memory card which i can pick up for around £25.

will it work and if so will it make much difference?

i have 4gb ram (although just discovered i'm probably only using 3gb of it - gutted). i understand 32 bit os limits my main ram but not sure about the turbo ram. I havent got the time or patience to up to 64 bit and have to reinstall everything from scratch.

is there anything else i could usefully put in those slots?

    tia

Afaik all the reviews that I read back in the day indicated that Turbo Memory didn't do much... it's basically a more primitive version of the SSD caching they do in some laptops today. I'd say don't bother and go buy yourself a real SSD instead.

If you want to fill up the slots, I think the other options were WWAN cards (possibly useless) and like wireless USB cards (very useless)...

not quite sure what a wwan card is?

I saw the same reviews. Some suggested it worked a little, more so if you used the 4gb. I havne't got ssd and it'll be a lot more expensive than this so I might still give it a try
