    hi,

I have a question. I was messing with the notebook, and i found how easy it is to change and access the processor. That makes me wonder if the new upcoming Intel processors will be compatible with m1330 or not. Right now i have T7300 Core 2 Duo.

    Thanks,
    SW

Will Penryn be using Socket P or a newer one?

From what I've read Penryn should be a drop in replacement for Merom. The FSB will remain at 800 MHz with DDR2 RAM. Later in the year a new chipset will be released that will bump the FSB up to 1066 MHz with DDR3 RAM. I expect a BIOS upgrade may be necessary for Penryn to work correctly in socket P machines.

If Dell doesn't provide any BIOS updates, you are stuck!

Yeah, but Dell is going to put Penryns in most if not all their current machines since they are all fairly new designs. So you can count on BIOS updates. Now if it takes more than a BIOS update then we may be in for a rough ride.
