I have heard that people were getting free gaming stuff from a site (link at the end)

But my cousin told me that going to some sites can mess up computers, is it even possible? i thought the worse that could happen is ad or spyware for just visiting a page. Am I wrong?

Here is the link, its not a direct link to the page, the link i am providing is an instruction page:
    http://viking.lkstevens.wednet.edu/GL/GL.html

So does anyone know anything that can be of use for me?

    Thanks!

Why would they have to say "I promise, it's legit" if it actually was?

A basic rule of the net is "whenever something is advertised as free, be cautious; be VERY cautious"...

Yep, I think so too. I also went there myself to check it out, then saw that it only had 47 hits. There was a hit counter yesterday, but not anymore....

    I wouldn't trust that site.

Odds are they'll send you junk in the mail and probably sell your address.

    DON'T DO IT.

NOTHING is ever free, you'll always end up paying in some form or fashion.

It really depends on how you play it. I had done a couple by Gratis Internet (the ipod ones) and got those. I turned around and sold them a couple of months later anyways. However I never paid anything out of pocket. The offers were free trial deals that I cut off close to the end of the month. They were ones I wanted to check out but bailed close to the end. I did let one hit my card though because I liked it.

Then I had the couple that I didn't want anyways and just needed to do the offer bit... I gave them my visa gift card number with $3 left on it. They charged a dollar each and I shredded the card as it was useless afterward.

I took a look at it. It has alot of offer setup in there. They use a point system and based on point to value comparison 1 point equals 1 dollar in real life. The only ones that really give you any points is the ones you use a cc on. However the other ones do give you points apparently. I havn't really looked too deep yet but it does appear to be a scam.
