    hi
    i have received OS back up and media direct discs for my vostro 1400.

    1: can i make bootable copies of these discs. if yes, can any one please explain this for me and through which software and with steps, please.

    2: can i make copies of these discs to my pc hard drive and install windows from these copies?

    3: can i make restore image of my pc on hard drive or dvd/cd. and through which software can i do that.
    please do help
    i will be very thankful

    1. Yes you can. First make an image of the disk and then burn it on to a new CD/DVD. Most commercial burning tools like Nero supports this.

    2. With XP you can (after modifying some file and booting with a separate disk). Not sure about Vista, but I think it should be possible. But installing from a DVD is far more convenient.

    3. Use a disk image backup tool like Norton Ghost or Acronis.
