i am trying to reinstall the dell cineplayer program and when i start the installation process i get a message telling me to get the latest .net framework which is 1.1 and i already have it installed and it still tells me to update, the installation stops after that, any ideas on what is the problem?

have you updated XP yet? You might try updating to .net framework 2.0 and see if cineplayer will recognize it.

Worst comes to worst, you can contact Dell's tech support and request the Cyberlink PowerDVD disc. Eventhough your laptop came with cineplayer, I know dell has sent some users Cyberlink if they requested it.

hmmm...ok, it might just be the disk then, do i go to microsofts website to get the 2.0 upgrade?

i believe if the app requires 1.1, then 2.0 will not work
