Ok, so im probably going to get a Vostro 1500 but with the smallest amount of RAM I can get. Im doing this because Dell charges 200 bucks for 2 gigs of RAM whitch imo is way overpriced, so ive got two questions...
    1. Is it hard to put RAM into a Vostro 1500?
    2. Would I see a noticeable difference in 2GB and 4GB?

    THANKS

1)No it should't be hard, at least 1 slot is under a small panel on the bottom of the notebook. At worst, teh second one is under the keyboard, which isnt hard at all.

2)Unless you are running heavy applications, then 2gb will be enough, even with vista.

2GB of RAM is plenty for the level of gaming a Vostro with an 8400 GS can handle.

2GB OF ram should be enough for gaming on Vista.

Oops, don't know why I assumed you had a 1400.

Well, it's still plenty for now. Wait till better games come out and RAM prices go down to upgrade.

Vista takes up .5 gigs of ram.
games can take up to a gig. unless your playing something VERY intencive then maybe 2 gigs. but with that its much easyer just to add an extra 2gig stick rather than getting dells 4gigs.

EDIT: Dont forget that Dells version of vista is 32 bit. which cna only handle 3.5gigs of ram.
