The $649 Vostro 1400 Smart Value package is a pretty good deal though. $649 gets the DVD burner, 2GB RAM, and 8400GS video

In UK, the prices have gone wayyyy down. Ordered a vostro yesterday for £652 and today the same spec costs £575. I cancelled my order today and will reorder tomorrow

Vostro prices up, Inspiron prices down in the US. Just priced out an Inspiron $30 less than the identical system yesterday.

I'm not quite understanding how they can list the price starting at $549, but show the standard package as $668. Someone over there was smoking pot with the stormtroopers before editing those pages. :p
