I purchased an inspiron 9100 online recently, and I'm starting to regret not spending the extra $50 to go from wsxga+ to wuxga

Right now I'm running a desktop computer at 1600x1200 on a 21" monitor - how does the size of the icons/text/desktop and such compare with the size of those on the wuxga 15.4" screen?

because I love the size and space I have right now, and if the wuxga resolution is about the same size then I definitely would have to seriously reconsider sending the laptop back and re-purchasing

The WUXGA+ monitor's native resolution is 1920x1200. This means you'll be basically running at the same resolution as your desktop monitor, but everything is scaled down by almost 6 inches. If you think you can live with that then go ahead and get the WUXGA. For me, the SXGA+ is just nice for me - perfect compromise between size and space. I can only imagine myself using a magnifying glass for the WUXGA screen...
