does anyone else suffer this problem with their new laptop? I've just received mine and whenever the screen goes black or dark you can clearly see the lightbleed in the top and bottom.... :( :(

I think pretty much all screens have this problem. I know mine does. No biggy.

Now people are just being so over-zealous with their Dells. Yes, light bleed may happen in a laptop. But if it's during a black screen, like shutdown/start-up...well that's normal.

You noticed? ;) However it does seem that Dell is having a few more problems across the board with build quality, shipping delays, etc. Personally, I haven't had a single problem. Knocking on wood.

I guess this could be an issue if you were watching a movie on your laptop.

Just a minor amount of lightbleed on mine, but its no worse than any other LCD screen I've seen.

Bigger issue with the WUXGA panels is their brightness. Mine's basically unusable on anything but the highest brightness setting.

My Samsung display had it. Dell claimed that this was normal and that the display is intentionally made brighter at the bottom for watching movies - which doesn't make sence. But when my screen was replaced with an LG display due to the grainy problems with the Samsung, I noticed that the LG doesn't suffer from any light bleeding.

I don't think Light Bleeding / Light Leakage or whatever people call it is a problem. You only see it on black screens, and lets be honest, how many times do you look at a plain black screen?
