    Hi,

I'm considering buying an i6000 but couldn't decide which screen to choose. I've seen the wxga and honestly I am not impressed with the picture quality and color/brightness. But I haven't seen a wsxga yet so I can't compare. I mostly use my laptop for surfing, watching dvd and reviewing/editing pictures taken on my camera. I also have a pretty good eyesight so small fonts won't be a problem.

    Appreciate any advice.

I would go with the wsxga+, that is what I have and I love it. You get tons of room on the desktop and everything is cyrstal clear. It is a really nice Display. It also should be very good for your picture editing. The highest resolution it can support is 1650 X 1050. I have it at that setting with the dpi down to 96 dpi, and it is not to hard to read at all, and I wear contacts too! So yea, I would definately reccomned it, I think it is a very nice feature that more laptops should have! :) Let me know if you have any more questions.

wxga on a 15.4" screen doesn't look impressive at all. Infact it looks quite bad, especially when the icons are big. (you can adjust that). But I would for most users that want a 15.4" widescreen go for the wsxga+, and not the wuxga. Wuxga is more for gammers, and designers that deal with high resolution diagrams and photos. The wuxga is simply to small, and you'll have to make the fonts bigger. The wuxga is nice for 17" screens, but I don't like it on 15.4". For $100 its a worthy upgrade... to go to wsxga+. :)

ok. so most likely its gonna be a wsxga+. i'm gonna need to find another good coupon before i commit. i'm also gonna wait for a screen review from the dude that just bought the wsxga.

i've only seen e-coupons for $650 in canada. u guys in the states have $750! that is like over 800CAD! man!!! i only wish.

just wanna throw out there that before you commit to a resolution you should really go see them for yourself. try to get to a computer shop and look at it with your own eyes, even if you've already seen the wxga and didn't like it, it's possible you may not like the others more.

all the posts in here (including mine about the wuxga) are all just personal preference and opinion. there's no way you can know what you will like in terms of lcd resolution by reading posts in a forum.

    good luck.
