This isn't critical but it is damn annoying. Vostro 1500 w/ Vista....I close the lid and it goes into standby. When I open the lid and it comes out of standby it has, for some unknown reason, reset the lcd resolution from 1440x900 to 1024x768. Any suggestions?

Perhaps you should try checking out your NVidia settings. Maybe they're different for some odd reason.

Might be some sort of driver problem. If you're using a Dell stock driver try using an NVidia ForceWare driver and vice versa.

My grandpa has had this problem as well. Still doesn't know how to fix it. But it must be something with Vista, because his laptop is an Inspiron E1405.

I have an HP Pavilion dv2000 with the same problem shutdown or standby both revert to 1024x768. The strange part is that it doesnt happen until i relogon. Meanning that it comes out of standby and is at the login screen in the proper wide screen resolution then i login and it reverts t o1024x768. Freaking vista!!!
