I am about to jump the gun on the current dell deal.

I was wandering if anyone has "15.4 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen WXGA+ Display with TrueLife™"? I know it is 1440x900, but the main reason WSXGA looks good to me is because of viewing angles. My wife, however, would prefer lower resolution to read the fonts easier. So, if WXGA+ has viewing angles of WSXGA, I'll go ahead and buy it for extra $50, but if it's the same as WXGA, I'll probably won't upgrade.

The search didn't turn up anything

Unless your planning on sitting beside your laptop the viewing angles are going to be fine. Other than that you can pretty much adjust the laptop monitor backwards until its pretty flat...but you already knew that.

Go for the upgrade on the screen. If worse comes to worse Im sure that you find someone that would be willing to trade you for that screen because their not happy with the lower end screen offered.

    Straight from the Dell website:

    WXGA
    Horiz +/- 40
    Vert +15/-30

    WSXGA+
    Horiz +/- 65
    Vert +50/-50

Not to mention the reduced amount of scrolling around. Unless she has poor eyesight, there's just no reason not to get the better screen. You use the screen 100% of the time.

The 1680 x 1050 screen is beautiful. I have a desktop 20.1" screen at that resolution and love it...and having the laptop at the same resolution is great. Also...yes the viewing angles are very good. I cannot complain one bit about the screen

Nobody actually commented on the angles of the WXGA+ (1440x900) displays. I would go with the WSXGA one, but my wife uses a lot of specilized financial software that don't have options to adjust the font size. So, I was hoping to get the best of both worlds: somewhat low resolution to easily read in any software and good viewing angles and contrast comparable to WSXGA.

    Same angles as WXGA.

On the website there a tell me more link for the screen options, and then there's a tab for details, or something like that.

WXGA+ is not one of the screens under "Help me choose". But it may now be a moot point since it seems they just removed it from the choices this afternoon, and someone else said they told him Dell will no longer offer this screen on e1505.

I'm in the same situation as you. The wxga+ is actually a new screen that came out for the e1505 so that's why not alot of people can comment on it. But for those that can, please comment!!!
