Hi everyone. Has any other owners of 1210 noticed the headphone jack outputting static nonstop? It's very noticeable when I'm using headphones to listen to music, not at all w/ the speakers.
I tried to mute all the excess audio devices, and no luck. On my desktop it was cause the microphone was on. Any ideas?
Thanks.

For me there is static, but it is very low and you can't notice it when listening to music. Same notebook.

same issue. i think it's inevitable with onboard sound. i wonder if a headphone amp / usb sound would help.
-
so it's not just me.. yeah, it's a very annoying problem
maybe updated audio drivers or somethign can fix this? -
Are you on ac power? I know I sometimes get that when plugged in but not on battery. Also, this is or my old Iinspiron 8000, my 1210 has no issues either way.

No issue here, not even with the volume turned all the way up...
mine is brand new... -
Nothing at all on mine. Dead quiet cranked all the way up.

it depends on the headphones for me. when im using the headphones that came with the a/v pack i find them significantly louder but theres also static...with all my other headphones i dont get static.
-
Hmm. Mine is slightly older, Core Duo 1.66GHz. (From July 06)

hmmm... i've notcied that w/ different headphones it's not a problem either...
however, i can't seem to play quicktime files w/out a LOT of static.. anyone else?
i've got quicktime alternative installed... maybe that's why? -
I hope it's just a software problem. It is kind of anoying if during a pause. -
OMG
just figured out why
went into my sound options.. and for some stupid reason.. i had the HARDWARE ACCELERATION setting down to NONE... wierd...
but i turned it up to full and no more static!
even w/ the sensitive earbuds
WOOHOO!
thought i was gonna have to send my baby in! phew!
