    hi everybody,

my xps 1330 was permanentely under electricity, i.e. the area surrounding the keyboard. dell changes the laptop, but the new one has the same problem. is anyone of you familiar with this? is this a general problem in the construction of the xps 1330? can you also feel the annoying vibrations when the laptop is connected to the socket?

    what powercord are you using?

You need one that has 3 pins, otherwise you'll get that.

what do you mean "under electricity"??

Do you mean that you get electrocuted when you touch the metal case??!!

If that is the case then DELL should be SHUT DOWN! And the dumb-ass monkies should all be SACKED!!

Under NO circumstances should you be getting electrocuted!

If a beefy capacitor happens to discharge when you touch the case, you WILL BE KILLED!!!!

It only takes a few milliamps to kill a person! And as for the plug being earthed, thats a load of bull! Cos what if your using it on tha battery?! Do you expect to carry an earthing strap everywhere??

And if the power supply was double insulated, then you WOULD NOT need an earthing wire in the plug! The only reason the power adapter is earthed is because its NOT double insulated! But if it was, there would be no earth wire!

By the sounds of it, the internal components are not earthed properly! Not the power supply!

Maybe they went "under electricity" too and won't be joining us anymore.

    RIP.
