    Hello all,

I have an XPS 1710 with 7950gtx. I did have Vista installed but downgraded to XP to play older games. I have 169.09 forceware installed, which is the latest. I think in Vista I was able to run a higher refresh rate than 60hz. I can't seem to run anything higer than this with xp and these forware drivers.
Is there anyway to increase this. I feel nausea when I play certain games. Am I missing monitor drivers from dell. It doesn't say what monitor is is.

    Plese help

    Thanks

    P

The monitor is built to only refresh at 60 Hz. I suspect even with different settings, you'll only get 60 Hz - anything else is a placebo effect.

I did have 63 Hz as my only option with the 169.02 drivers in Vista. Right now I'm running the latest XP ones from Dell (156.55 I believe, on Dell as of December 14th), and from the "Change Resolution" section of the nVIDIA Control Panel I can choose a 60 Hz or 63 Hz refresh rate.

That's only 5% even if there actually is a difference, though, which is unlikely. Perhaps it's the game - did you play it in Vista? Or maybe you've just been playing for too long - with a name of "eyeglaze" that seems somewhat plausible. Or maybe it's the flu. If it worked fine in Vista, chances are extremely high it's not a problem with the computer.

I did some research. I guess it is just the game that is making me feel sick. It is just when I was in Vista I didn't feel this way. Everything just seems smoother in Vista, visually anyway, support is still...eh...which is why I went back to xp. Thanks Apollo13
