Can't seem to find any concrete info on this so wanted to ask:

What is the gain in batt life with the x3100 integrated as opposed to the 8400M discrete (assuming all settings are the same, i.e. either both laptops have wifi off, or both have wifi on, etc)

Is it possible to underclock the 8400M to x3100 levels, and does this require special utilities like overclocking sometimes does or is it simply a matter of tweaking the power settings?

Completely OT, which processor numbers are the Penryns? This is not really important, but if someone happens to know, it'd be great.

(I won't be using the laptop for gaming.)

    Thanks!

I don't know specific numbers but I do know the 8400M GS does down-clock for power saving when required.

I do know that it downclocks, but thanks for responding. :) Would anyone else also happen to know the specific answers to my questions?

    Thanks again!
