Is this on all access points or just your home network? Do other computers stay connected without a problem?

Have you tried using the drivers/PROset software directly from Intel?

    found here http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2259

In my experience with a Lenovo, ThinkPad and HP notebooks -- all with 3945abg cards -- Intel's software and driver set worked far better than the OEM-supplied software.

Also, this software/driver package last had an update in April 2008.
