    I've already done it on my Vostro 1400. I put a red 1420 lid on it, and think it looks great. You can see my thread, with photos of the finished product, here.

    it says refurbished, wouldnt that mean it would be all scratched up and worn?

    Mine was in perfect condition. If it's refurbished it means it's not new, but has been restored to new condition.

    omg...i totally want to do this now. i had lost track of your thread about this before. it looks amazing! the only thing i dont like is the silver strip at the base of the lcd.

    looking at your pics of the lid...the vostro 1500 has a much larger silver strip than the 1400. however, it almost looks to be a seperate piece that can be unclicked from the rest of the plastics. i was wondering if i would switch it with the black of my vostros...any idea?
