So, it's here locally and instead of converting 2 channels there's actually 10 broadcasting in ATSC 3 / AC4 which brings to the front the issue of decoding AC4.

I use Plex for most things and there's an issue with AC4 because Plex uses FFMPEG for decoding audio / video. FFMPEG doesn't support AC4 as found through most forums discussing the issue. Now that ATSC 3 is live I've had a chance to test it. Opening a stream through Plex does result in a picture w/o audio as discussed/ However using the HDHR app on Phone / Chromecast does work flawlessly.

PC is asking for HEVC codec from Window Store for $0.99. I found it for free but, it isn't registering with the HDHR app in Windows properly.

VLC being the go to for opening anything AV related and working seems to be missing the AC4 codec as well as there's a picture but no audio.

I find it a bit odd that the HDHR app works and other options don't and work arounds / patches don't seem to resolve the issue. I'm still digging into it though and hope to find a solution to share regarding this as ATSC 3 is ever expanding at this point and it doesn't do much good if you can't hear the audio while streaming the video.

Some TV's have built in ATSC 3 tuners / decoders but, when you're working outside of the box it complicates things a bit more of course.

    I'm using a HDFX-4K for the tuners. This gives 2 ATSC3 and 2 ATSC1 options with the ATSC3 tuners also providing ATSC1 fallback for 4 x streams on ATSC1.

I wasn't going to bother with upgrading to ATSC3 until Iran into an issue with my server rebuild not working with the existing ATSC1 card I had been using for ~4 years now. I put that card back into the old build and it worked flawlessly as expected. There's just some compatibility difference with 12700K / Z690 for some reason.
