Anyone know if this all in one can be upgraded after purchase?

I am looking at this as a replacement for my 24" touch and laptop computer. I am wondering can I upgrade the ram and drives myself or is it all on board and sealed?

I have also noticed that the cheaper version has gforce MX330 vs XE iris on the more expensive model. which is better for graphic work?

Did you use your Service Tag number at Dell site to see what upgrade options it has? That would be first where I would look to see what options shows up.

I'm going to assume not since there aren't drop downs for customizing.

The odd memory options of 8/12/16 lead me to believe this is probably going to be a PITA to rip apart and add/delete items.

Could always just order it and find out for sure if you can open the chassis and see if things are soldered or replaceable.

I contacted Dell, they claim it is upgradeable. I don't have the cash to buy it just to find it out it's not upgradeable. I am looking to get a 27" touchscreen computer with LOTs of ram and HD space for my work.

Why not build a system and attach a large touchscreen to it?

I have not seen any 27" touchscreen monitors by themselves. Plus I can't build something as cheap as this system goes for. If I kept my 24" touchscreen maybe.

27" screens are available but they're not cheap. If you kept the 24" which isn't that much of a size difference anyway you could easily out build the Dell and the specs show the RAM 8GB module is soldered leaving you with 1 slot to swap out. There's also no knowing how many SATA ports could potentially be available or if there's an M2 expansion slot open if you wanted to double or RAID the M2's.

You get what you pay for and since you're already in the mindset of upgrading why waste the $$$$ on a pre-built system that already doesn't meet your requirements?

I'll say this anything AOI computer is JUNK in the long term even if it's a regular everyday computer your better off getting a Laptop that is 17" that will be far worth your money in the long run. They are a MONEY maker for the manufacture and your on the loosing end.

Try asking how much repairs will be and if they will even repair it. That cost would be more then a Laptop repair would be. They are throw away computers, I have yet to see comparisons of Laptop vs AOI where a laptop would be far better value/performance for the money.

I buy stuff assuming it won't break. If you keep thinking like that you will jinx everything you buy. Don't worry however, I have moved on to a different system for what I was intending to do. I have the first couple of parts for it already and it will be finished in a few months.

    @ kojack

Good thing parts don't have an expiration date on them. Haven't you been contemplating this new system for at least 6 months now? 3 more months and it should be birthed. :p

Ha ha, I placed an order today. Will be here on the 25th. But not this all in one. I bought a new XPS 8940. After doing a quick 1080 rip on my laptop, I quickly realized that it was going to cook if I created a 30-40min feature on it.
