So I got home from a (bad) day at work and of course my PC decides to give me a flashing white screen immediately after the motherboard splash ("military grade").
If I do a safe boot, I can run the computer fine without issues (played MGSV at max settings at 1440p with no artifacts) so I assume it's not a hardware problem.
I just upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 over the weekend. I did a restore point to 2 days ago but that didn't help. Everything was literally fine until today. No issues at all and I was running W10 for several days without anything like this. Any ideas? The flashing white screen has some colour artifacts here and there (like blocks of various colours, almost like a 16-bit game) and I can still see the mouse and move it around fine.
The PC is relatively new (got a 980/i5-4690k for The Witcher 3 launch) so hoping it's not hardware related at least.

I just used Display Driver Uninstaller to do a clean wipe of my GPU driver and re-installed the latest Windows 10 Nvidia version but without any of the 3D stuff/HD audio - seems to have fixed it!

Booting to a flashing white screen - PC works fine in safe mode though
