I am building my own Desktop next week and need to get all the specs for it. I have chosen carefully and checked the compatibility of CPU and motherboard which seemed to be fine. I however still worry that I might run into a problem I am not familiar with since this is my first PC being built. Note that I do not really care about gaming but I do a lot of web/mobile application development and I will be running many servers on it. But I added the good graphic card just in case. It is already expensive why not add a 100 $

Also I want to be able to run three monitors on it how would I know I will be able to do that ?

    Here are the specs:

CPU: Intel core i7 4790k 4.0 GHz Processor Multi
MotherBoard: Asus Desktop Motherboard intel z97 Exoress CHipset Socket H3 LGA 1150 - multi
HDD: Seagate 4tb internal serial ATA Had Drive for desktops
GPA: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics card
Ram: PNY 2 pack 8 gb PC3 12800 DDR3 Desktop Memory Kit Multi
SSD: Crucial - 512 GB 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive - Multi
Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA 750 G1 Power Supply - Black
Fan: Cooler Master - Hyper TX3 92mm CPU Cooling Fan with Heat Sink - Black

and Finally the case for the PC and some cool LED lights:

Any suggestions or recommendations are welcome. Appreciate the help

You will actually be able to run 4 monitors with that graphics card. I've got an older, and less powerful GTX 750 and I run 4 monitors all day with it. Running that GTX 960 you can actually run multiple 4k monitors, though that card isn't powerful enough to do gaming across multiple 4k monitors, for what you described you do then it would handle it.

Everything looks good to me, though I personally don't like those types of cases, I would prefer to go with something cheaper and more plain looking. But that is just a matter of opinion.

You didn't mention the O/S? I would recommend Windows 7x64 Ult Sp1 if you can still get it
That a good Processor to have especially "K" allows for OC if you ever choose to do so.
Looks good make sure it can upgrade processor family line should you feel the need for more CPU power. And make sure it has a SLI option just incase your single GTX can't drive both smoothly. I seen a GTX770SC PNY drive two monitors without problem.
Is this main or 2nd drive? If 2nd HDD then use it for that.
For more then 3 monitors I would not go lower then GTX970...and at least have more then 4gigs of VRAM. And sometimes you might need a second GTX970 to handle more monitors in SLI to keep things going smoothly. I don't 3 Monitors so someone that has done 3 or more monitors could say more on this. But for me more then 2 monitors should use SLI setup.
I would go for 16Gigs of RAM and make them all matching so you get dual channel setup.
Use this for your Main Drive and that will boost your system.
That's a good power supply to have but if you go SLI make sure it can handle the output needed.
I would go sealed liquid cooling if you can afford it.
Case will depend on how many HDD/SSD and GPU cards you are installing if only one then a midtower is all you need but if you plan to expand...I went by full tower a Cosair 750D....it's big but provides me plenty of storage that I fill to the max...and still have room for 3 more SSD on the backside-oh and it has 14 HDD inside of it. This is based on my computer build experiences...

OS: I am installing linux, no idea how yet but should be fairly easy

CPU: I did not decide if HDD should be the main one or SSD. so when the PC is booted it uses the main drive ?

RAM: I am getting 16 gb in total. or did you mean I should get 32gb in total ?

Cooler: i did not end up getting any cooler since the processor turns out to have a cooler that comes with it. Do you recommend me to get one anyway and not use the once that comes with it ?

Power Supply: the power supply calculator gave me 550W. But I am still planning on adding Blu ray drive in the future. You think 750 is enough or I am cutting it short ? I know this is the most important part as all the power is going through and it could mess up the whole system

I would definitely get an aftermarket cooler. The stock ones work if you leave your cpu at idle, but if you going to put alot of usage on it then I would get something aftermarket. There are many options to choose from, even a larger air cooled one will do a better job than the stock one. I personally run Zalman coolers, ones like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118126

750 would be plenty for what you have listed.

Which cooler do you recommend me to get for my specifications ? or it does not matter ? should I get a cooler with LED light in it or that has the possibility of heating up the system more ?

for example what do you think of this one ?

Stock cooler is fine if you're not OC'ing the system (though it can handle a bit of OC as well). If you are planning on OC (and judging by that K CPU you are), it's worth getting an aftermarket cooler. Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is the best bang for the buck. It's performs well (usually better than water coolers in $50 category), but is a bit tall, so it might not fit in some cases.
What's your budget for the CPU cooler, OP? Do you want liquid or air?

I can't say for sure on the coolers but if you read online reviews that should give you both con/pros of the liquid coolers. They have small to big depending on your needs.
Look at your motherboard specs and it will tell you what size of tower it will fit and then see what your tower inside dimension are and it should be at least 1feet as the GPU for Desktop especially the high end can be that long and fitting in a tight space can be a problem for the connections to your other hardware. As to the O/S why I say Windows that is the the most popular and most support platform. And command from Linux to Windows aren't the same and not interchangeable so that is something to consider. Also with the Distro of Linux the support is so spread out that it will be hard to find a single support that will help your troubleshoot that is another big downside of Linux...too many and driver support is a hit or miss as well. So it's not just the O/S but the parts that support it the "Drivers" that can make or break a O/S from working as you want it to. You might have to give a link to that Amazon tower so we can see what the reviewers and what its specs are to know if they compliment each other.

That is the link to the tower I am getting, everything should fit just fine, the mother board isn't that huge

regarding O/S: I am software developer and having a Linux on my system is a bug plus. I understand about the support but I mean what is the chance of your Linux breaking down.

Actually now that I thought about it I think I will dual boot both Windows 8 and Ubuntu. I think 4tb should be plenty enough for that no ?

I've heard there are problems with Win8 and Ubuntu dual boot process as well so you need to lookup this problem before doing it as it might be a problem with the setup.
