I'm building a gaming PC for the first time since a decade ago. My setup will be:

    - EVGA X99 Micro motherboard
    - Intel i7 5820K CPU
    - 16GB ??? ram (4x4GB for quad-channel support)
    - EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 GPU

The thing is with all the CAS latency, timing, and speeds, I am not sure what's the best for this setup. I'm looking for efficiency and overclock-ability.

Would this be okay for that? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...1799&cm_re=gskill_ddr4-_-20-231-799-_-Product

    TIA

That gskill in the link will work perfectly fine. For gaming and general use you really won't see a difference between 2133 or 3000 ram. Every report I've read and experience at most on gaming it may make a 1-2 FPS difference if your lucky.

I personally think you're wasting your money on that ram.

This is the DDR4 I went with for my X99 build (except I bought the 2x8 sticks). Works great and is cheap-ish for DDR4. Its 2400, and from what I've read on reviews runs 2700 fine. Regardless as pathfinder said you won't notice any difference in gaming. Save the money and buy a bigger SSD.
