    I came back to my computer after eating dinner and watching a show, approx 90 minutes, I tapped the space bar to wake up my computer and for a second it appeared to wake up then went totally dead, there is a green power led on the MB, that's it. I have never had anything like this happen before. Any ideas on where to start?

    EDIT: For the first time in my life I had tyo pull the battery out to reset the CMOS wtf? It working.

    Sounds like an unstable CPU/memory overclock.

    Weird! Hopefully nothing to do with your liquid metal on your CPU. I suppose an unstable overclock could do it, like previously mentioned, but you'd think a borderline stable overclock would still boot without having to pull the CMOS - a strange one indeed!

    Prior to shutting down or leaving for awhile I always set defaults in XTU and Afterburner/PXOC, I also set my fan to silent and my AIO to a custom quiet curve. It was funny I was thinking how then heck I was going to replace my CPU for I was certain it was a failed Deliding, that or my Bronze PSU. I do know of wish I had a CMOS button on the back like the more expensive models.

    Maybe it was some kind of weird one off, maybe some kind of brief power outage or something. Praps it won't happen again.

    Im have been reading a lot of posts lately and I could have sworn that I ran across on mentioning s some kind of Hibernation bug but I cant seem to find it anywhere, I went through my settings and disabled all hibernation modes so maybe that was it.

    Let's see how it goes!

    EDIT: on the topic of tech death, my GPU in my laptop died, using Intel Graphics now - no biggie, I don't use my laptop for gaming anymore (desktop instead!), actually working very well with Intel HD3000 graphics surprisingly, just sorted it out today.

    I've had an old asus running like that for a while, just using it for files and word processing anyway.

    This past weekend, i delidded my new (3rd :S) 7700k and after cleaning, applying conductonaut and everything, the system would not boot. CMOS reset also didnt work. I had accidentally dropped my tube of Conductonaut , but that did not cause a spill. Spent 2 hours scouring the motherboard for a short or a spill, put the processor PCB under a macro lens so figure out if i damaged it. Nothing.

    Went ahead to put the processor back into the socket, and found a piece of the scraped off glue that got stuck under the processor PCB that got stuck between the socket pins :\

    @bloodhawk
    When you removed the glue did it boot properly?

    a

    I discovered some of the grey glue I used on my second try stuck to the bottom of mine, that would have been another year off my life.
