Best way to describe the noise is static discharge or pop.
As the title suggests last night after about 2-3 hours of continuous gaming on H1Z1 Battle Royal I was ready to head to bed when I took off my headphones and heard an occasional popping or ticking like noise coming from what I believe is the power supply. Nothing is touching in the case, I've just recently completely removed all dust from the system, and blew it out again last night to make sure.
The sound I'm hearing went away, but returned immediately when under load (ran valley benchmark) and then continues to happen while cooling down. Its a single pop or tick, then happens again maybe 5 seconds or minutes later, its not constant and varies.
The sound is new, never heard it before. The power supply is less than 2 months old. Unfortunately I have to deal with EVGA RMA service if it comes to that as a store option isn't available at this point. I had a Corsair CX750M before this point and it ran perfectly for 8 months or so before being replaced with this ridiculously expensive power supply to avoid problems like these! All I read was how crap that Corsair unit is and blah blah blah, here I am 2 months later with this expensive gold rated unit with this annoying possibly hazardous noise! The reddit PCMR will be hearing from me!
What do you guys think this noise could be? I'm leave my system on all day usually and only restart when required ,I've always done this with my computers. My fear is to leave this on while I'm gone for days at a time for work and it starts a fire or something while the wife is home sleeping. I think I'll be shutting it down in the mean time for now and reminding her to do the same. I still have the Corsair unit and will be testing today to rule out any other possible hardware causes, I just hate that I have to rewire the unit again.
Edit:
A PSU calculator put me at Load Wattage of 717W, and a recommended PSU of EVGA 850 B2 80 Bronze lol. I added in my entire system including perphs, and overclocks.

Update, cleaned the power supply and case of dust with a compressed air can one more time this morning. Have just recently run Valley Benchmark again, no sounds, and no sounds while idle either. It appears to have resolved itself at least for now. So weird. I guess I should have also mentioned the PC has exhibited zero issues and runs great. Maybe static electricity had built up somewhere in the PSU? I guess I'll just see if it comes back at this point.

Guess so.. Hopefully nothing is broken etc

If you ever need to replace a PSU again here's a master list you can consult to see who the OEM of the PSU is as well as what the reviews say about the particular unit. For the most part brand name for a PSU doesn't mean anything as except for Enermax, Seasonic and Super Flower since they're their own OEMs. Everyone else just buys a factory made PSU and slaps their own branding on it.
