    Hi Guy,
Some of you here might have seen my youtube video, 11k views so far. Thanks

    MSI GT70 2OC--- GTX970m/980M upgrade
    https://goo.gl/P0QBpe
I got a 770m to work with 970m with the help of you guys of course. The process was plug and play.

Now i am wondering has anyone here successfully got the 1060 laptop GPU to work with a GT70?

From the pictures of 1060, it looks pretty much the same as a 970m or 980m GPU, clearly, the 1070 and 1080 will not fit the GT70 GPU slot

Has anyone got this to work the way the 970m worked on my GT70?

Wrong forum... Go to the MSI forum..

1060 will work as long as the connection to the screen is eDP.. LVDS connection won't work with 1060..

They're a different size, at the absolute least you'd have to modify the heatsink assembly. While I doubt it's a practical idea, it's possible someone has done it. I second the recommendation to check the MSI forums.

I just need to accept it, my GT70 with an upgraded 970m which runs butter smooth is the best my laptop will ever get.
I rather sell it and buy a newer model, rather than throwing more money at my GT70, it cost me less than £150 to upgrade to a 970m after selling my 770m. The price to performance gain was well worth the money

Good choice, the 970M is still a great card, and unless you need VR support or super high resolution you don't really need to upgrade.

970M is a beast at 1080p still, £150 is a good price to pay for that upgrade!
