    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help me build a gaming pc under $1500 or under. I was going through the parts on pcpartpicker but it come out way higher. Some of the parts I wanted are:

    core i7
    Corsair D350 window case
    SSD 512gig or more
    GTX 1070
    16gig of ram
and maybe a 4tb HDD if budget allow.

Some of the builds I come up with were way past $1600.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

BTW, I live near a Fry's and Microcenter but have not found a good deal on the i7 chip.

    Thanks

Hey OP! Give me a few minutes :)

Edit: actually do you want an overclockable i7? And do you care 6700k vs 7700k? They are very very close and both really powerful for gaming.

    Edit 2:
    Ok so here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GtxGVY

I left out the 4TB HDD for now. Case is also wrong but same price.

This is a very good "value" high end build with high quality parts. Comes out to 1350.

You can decrease this by being smart with ssd deals and paying attention to Microcenter sales.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

I was actually looking at the same specs as you would but with the Corsair 350D window case and the Samsung M.2 SDD. That's probably why the price was higher.

I matched the case price. It's 100 bucks on Newegg and the one in there is 100.

I wouldn't get an M.2 really over a Sata at first. Save it for a pcie or something. Even a pcie though isn't worth the premium at all right now it does almost nothing for normal users.

I have heard that some places are still selling unimproved ACX cooled GPUs (the ones that were catching on fire), may want to pick a different brand there. Otherwise looks good.

If you taking "K" series CPU look into motherboards with Z170 chipset (may need bios update to support 7th gen cpu) or Z270 because officially only "Z" series support overclocking. Or if you not planing to overclock you paying extra just to have unlocked cpu which you not gonna use to its full potential anyway.

Also, just opinion, but I would rather have high end air cooler than prebuilt-closed water loop as first one is more reliable. The only thing that can break in air cooler is fan bearing. While in water system usually pumps die out first, water vanish (even with no leaks), gunk build up in system piping&radiator and lastly- the same fan bearings. Yet, if you building a new system from ground up every year or so, it won't matter much if cooling is reliable or not.

YMMV on closed loop. It's a good solution for keeping quiet without much mess/assembly.
