What would be a good graphics card to upgrade an old Q6600 gaming pc. Mostly for MS flight sim. Old card is dying and needs replaced. I want to go as good as I can go without creating a bottleneck / or wasting money on performance that system cant use.

Get a GTX970 and it will be future proofed... Honestly even a 960 will be a upgrade!

What kind of budget are we talking about?

970 for FSX is a bit overkill. However, if OP decides to try out P3D or XP, 970 would be worth it. Or plays other games.

Lol that is why I suggested the 960 too... Whichever one is in budget.. Personally I would just build a new desktop.. The Q6600 is too old now..

On a budget Q6600 is still good.

Yes I agree a Q6600 heavily overclocked paired with a decent GPU can still game quite well.

I"ll add I would recommend a 960 or 380x on that sort of budget. If you really wanted to spend more, take the extra $100-125 and find a used Sandy Bridge CPU, board and 8gb ram. It might be tough but with enough hunting around you can probably manage it.

Eh...why are you telling me that? Didn't I say that Q6600 was good enough?

Nah I was simply agreeing with what you said about the Q6600 still being capable.

Here I'll fix it for you.
