has anybody else ever worked on one of these. this is the second one i have worked on (i repair computers in my off time). This one wont turn on, the charger makes a slight screaching noice intermittently and i tried another hp charger and it blew it up lol. iv taken out most of the other hardware and accessories to see if there was a fault but still not even the fan will turn on. iv read that its happened before with these things but i haven't found an answer. I also tried to trip the power switch but that didnt work either. Im still tinkering around with it but the only idea i have right now is replacing the motherboard which is pricey, the owner doesnt want to do that.

Hmmmm. The power supply inside the machine maybe? I have an HP elitebook and the charger started making the same noise the other day, and when making that noise....it does not charge. I bought a new one so I hope that is all that it was. Was the other power cord the same one? or did you just use another one you had there? Also, could be the power plug in the unit itself.

From what I see the only power supply is the charger. Only battery inside is the CMOS which I've already tried replacing. I was thinkin the power plug but the solder connections seem fine and it doesn't appear to be broken or anything. I feel like there is a small blown resister or something on the board that is opening or reversing current somewhere. I tried to other HP chargers for ****s and gigs and it appears to have possibly ruined both of those. Bad move on my part but they were all around the same ratings so eh. Oh yeah and its not the original charger itself that is an issue because it's working perfectly for my HP laptop now lol

Thank you for the reply and interest by the way
