thanks for the reply i ment to write 16gb ram
i was thinking of going into the i7 range for a upgrade if anything
i prefer not to overclock (being in a minitx format) i cant fit a good cooler in (the low profile ones available to me do nothing according to reviews) that and temps are great as it is
looking at the 4790kgonna cost me if i do it.
good to know recon ill beable get ultra settings at 60fps ?Last edited: Jan 25, 2016 -
Monitor wise, have you got a bit more budget? I suggest the Acer H257U, great frameless monitor and it's IPS + 1440p... Not too much different to the monitor you linked but at least you'll have proper warranty etc.. -
soz ment the K again i missed a letter
.
Acer H257U is 600+ where the monitor i selected is only 400 for me (australian dollar) -
I wouldn't stuff a 4790K in a mini ITX build. They get hot out of the box, especially with the 4.4GHz turbo. Those chips are meant for enthusiasts with proper cooling.

yeah unfortunately the comp store only has dodgey low profile coolers so i cant get a good one for my mini itx (they ****ed up my order and didnt hold the low profile cooler and ran out of stock)
@Ethrem what u recommend then (nothing out of the extravagantly as **** costs more here)Ethrem likes this. -

ok thanks for that for the record my 4960 doesnt even reach 72
at max stress just wanna find a good setup for 1440p
i dont wanna overclock though being in a mini itx case in all
hey @Ethrem my local store has a Noctua NH-L9i its got mixed reivews is it worth ti ? gonna cost me 55 and the store wont let me return if it doesnt do ****Last edited: Jan 25, 2016 -

gonna wait til i do my next build for water cooling wont be for 3- 5 years as i am very happy with this comp. i will overclock my 970 g1 gaming as the case puts it right next to the exausht and it runs amazingly cool -

MSI GTX 970OC 4G
Asrock Extreme6
Crucial 256G SSD
GSkill 16gig
PS forget the brand name 750 80%
Cosair 750D Full tower.
i5-4960K OC @4.2ghz
Coolermaster 212 cooler
Asus 2560x1440 - 27" monitor - have to admit at the resolution games looks nice but Windows desktop is huge sand spaced out.
My GTX970 fan doesn't run til I run my games - glad for that but I don't play the likes of Crysis 3 but Pillars of Eternity at high max resolution so that pushes the GPU fan a bit but most part the GPU is quiet only the CPU fan and case fans are running. I would think you should try to get a Coolermaster 212 if you can mine is working pretty good. But for 1440 I think your GPU should work since my GPU can run Pillars of Eternity at 1440 on the Asus. The monitor isn't cheap but does the work-though it is heavy but I also plugged on the DisplayPort not the dvi or hdmi. So that might be something you want to consider using the DP not Hdmi or DVI plug to get the best output. And so far running DP I haven't notice any problems. So this is my experience so far playing at 2560x1440 on Asus 27" DP with MSI GTX970OC 4G card. -
)
that being said i dont htink pillars of Eternity is too requiring. that being said there is videos of people running GTA V at the 1440p resolution on high (not ultra aside textures ) but dota 2 will be fine as it doesnt require much at all.
should be here by the 2nd for mecant wait

I know Pillar of Eternity might not push it but having a bigger view make it look nicer and it does push the pixels at the 1440 setting but I like the eye candy it gives. The monitor was a Asus PB278Q monitor. The previous owner said he didn't use it much but it look great.
