Inwin gaming machine

Im looking to build a desktop in a inwin hframe mini. I need recommendation on wich mini atx bord to use and what graphics card as well as any other recommendations other than the case. I would prefer intel cpu. Im looking to play fallout 4 at a good 35-60 fps. And i would like this build to be around $500 a little more or less is fine but not more than 600. Im also not looking for 4k or insane graphics i want above playable at minimum.

 

$500-600 is going to be a steep request. For one, do you live near a MicroCenter? You can save $40-80 on an Intel CPU depending on which one you pick. But I'll assume you don't. pcpartspicker.com can help you too...

 

A whole system for that price and decent fps in a AAA title will be kinda tough. The gpu alone will be $300-$375 (970 or amd equivalent). Definitely will have to drop to a lower end non k i5 cpu. Decent psu, storage, my and ram. You can get by with a 212evo hsf. Assume you already have a monitor?

 

IMO, on such tight budget it's not very smart to buy an aftermarket cooler. Stock Intel cooler will be just fine when no overclocking.

Depending on your preference, OP, you can also go for AMDFX6300 or GTX960.

 

1. You should give a link to your case so others can know what your asking will work.
2. $500 is too small especially if you factor in a 970OC GPU alone is 300-400$$.
3. 60fps would require something like GTX970OC to get those specs
4. For 4K $500 will not work nor will $600 overall. Expect to spend some serious money here.
5. 4k requires GTX980 or SLI GTX970OC to get there and then the monitor for 4K will break your $500 budget.
6. Some realistic goals in need here.
7. Processor must be Intel i5 or i7 1150 or skylake as older boards/cpu combo will be harder to find.
So all in all what your looking to do at the price you want to do isn't going to happen unless you already have a 970OC or 980 specs board already to go with other components already on had and then the monitor to drive 4K aren't cheap to be had either. IMHO...

 

Uhmmm, I'm a bit lost... Where do you guys read that OP wants a 970 or 4k monitor?
Here's the translation - OP wants a PC for $500 (tops $600) which could run Fallout 4. He doesn't ask to run it on ultra or 4k, just wants frame rates to be somewhere between 35-60, even if it means running it on minimum settings.

A bit over the budget though. You can choose to go with 2GB GTX960, GTX950, or R9 380. Also can save additional 10-15 bucks or so by going with 4440 or 4460.

skylake z board with OC i3 ~200-250?
best buck option would be 7950/7970/280/280x/380
budget budget budget option is always g3258 + w.e board you found go for ~100

 

I wouldn't go for g3258 anymore. It's a dual core, and a lot of modern day games don't like that. Better to go either with i3 (dual core + HT) or AMD quads. Or just Intel quad.

Oh, in this case the mobo from that link won't work. You need an mITX. Also, can you buy this case without the PSU, because it won't be no good anyway. And it's has a single slot for GPU, not good... None of those GPUs (960/950/380) will fit there.

 

I have to agree on this, if you're thinking of playing games that utilizes multi-cores like GTA V then the G3258 won't cut it despite being a good overclocker. You will see a number of threads highlighting issues of microstuttering and I have seen it happening in my sister's rig despite the chip being overclocked to 4.3GHz stable before we swapped it out for a i7-4790s.

If you plan to keep the system for a while then I would look for a Core i5 as a minimum which will save you time and cost in the long run.

 

The OP is wanting 60fps in fallout 4. You won't achieve this in 1080p unless you turn settings way down in the game running a 960. I never said anything about 4K. The 960 is going to struggle keeping Fallout 4 running decently.

My gaming rig used to be C2Q 9550 with GTX660. I did okay in BF4... indoors at least
Then I upgraded mobo+cpu to G3258 and I effectively doubled the FPS in BF4.
Some time after that, I upgraded G3258 to i7 4790 (non-k) and again doubled the FPS.
Later I upgraded GTX660 to GTX970 and at least doubled it again.
Settings were same all the time.

Rough estimates that's how it basically went. I would rather have 4790k but it since the i7 was free... I'll change to k cpu later when I come across one cheap enough and then I'll do some overcloking magic too.

G3258 is a decent placeholder if a better cpu isn't available or affordable right now.

 

StormJumper was talking about 4k, so you can pass that part. And of course nVidia recommends 970. If they could they would recommend everyone to get a Titan X. Or even two!
From my understanding OP didn't talk about constant 60FPS. He/she said that "is looking to play fallout 4 at a good 35-60 fps" and I think 960 or 380 will do fine at achieving that task..

If details sacrificed you could get by with a 950 or 7970.
