Will I see much of a speed improvement in video editing between by 2012 Mac Mini 2.3 GHz i7 Quad and a Kabby Lake i7 7700 ?

Will I see any big changes in export speed with Quick Cache between the Third gen HD 4000 and 7th Gen HD 630?

I am building a desktop with these specs:

    Processor: Intel i7 7700
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H270-Gaming 3 or MSI H270 PC MATE or [Gigabyte GA-Z270-HD3
Ram: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000 MHZ
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB
    Power Supply: Seasonic Platinum 660 - SS-660XP2
Video Card: Asus R9 280X flashed for Mac

    Thanks

I don't know much about Macs but I just built a Kaby Lake rig and its amazingly fast in both the games I play and daily use.

    Please change the 7700 to a 7700K... And a Z270 board...

    Everything else is fine!

Note that if you are going to do this, you'll also have to add the cost of a good CPU cooler since the -K chips don't ship with them anymore.

And if you plan on overclocking, I'd double-check your PSU requirements.

Slightly disappointing that they don't ship with the cooler any more, was nice to fall back on the factory cooler when my old closed loop cooler failed. Oh well.

Agreed on the cooler... PSU is 660W which is plenty... My friend runs an overclocked 6700K and a GTX1080 with a 650W PSU!

Not many times a single GPU machine would ever need more than 600-700

Also platinum PSU so it's about as efficient as it ever gets! 660W will be good enough!

Agreed, even in a budget build I try not to cut corners on PSU efficiency.

The only thing no one should ever do in any desktop build one way or another.

The PSU is the single most important component, so I completely agree.

Honestly I think there's a lot of people who would sacrifice efficiency if they could get reliability and low price at its expense.
