Hello everyone,
I'm an architect and i'm planning to build a desktop for work. I'll be using AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3dsMax for rendering, Revit Architecture and Lumion for rendering and a bit of Rhino modeling. Need help on deciding between GTX 970 and K1200. I know K1200 isn't at the league of 970. But on price range, K1200 is only closer. We are already using one PC at our office with GTX 970. It seems to be working fine and lumion is very smooth on that. Can anyone please suggest the right graphics?
Thanks.

Sounds like you answered your own question. 979 is doing fine at work and in general faster.. Sounds like your answer.. Quad to drivers are generally geared towards graphics/3d applications such as autocad, 3dsmax etc but I've personally never had issues with regular Nvidia drivers cards with those apps. Plus if you do decide to do any gaming the 970 is hands down the better choice.

GTX970.
And for the sake of all builders. Don't make your designs so unnecessarily difficult to build. I understand many get paid a percentage of the entire job so you add more to make more money, but use some common sense and design it so it can actually be done. I'm sick of lousy Architects and Engineers. -
Hi Syndrome,
Not all architects design structures those are difficult to build. Not all structures are difficult to build. Not all structures are meant to be built, some of them are for experimental purpose. It is good to think out of the box than just design conventional designs. I don't encourage all those fancy shapes that you talk about. If the function is fulfilled properly in those shapes, then it is good to be worked out in real.
Need help on deciding between Geforce GTX 970 vs Quadro K1200
