I have an extremely low budget. $300. Ive seen it done online. Id like somthing that i can upgrade the processor like from an i3 to an i7 as an example 4gbs ram nessisary but i need to be able to upgrade to atleast 8gb. Hard drives not nessisary i have a few satas sitting around. And at least 2 pci spots (one for a graphics card and one for a wifi card (i dont like usb dongles) ) space is sorta an issue i was thinking about upgrading a used emachine. I cant have a massive tower.
Ive been trying to use pcpartpicker.com

I'm assuming that you already have a monitor, mouse, keyboard, and an OS, in addition to your hard drives.

    CPU: Pentium G3240 ($61.13) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G3RH7819
    MoBo: MSI H81M-P33 ($45.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...731&cm_re=msi_h81m-p33-_-13-130-731-_-Product
    GPU: XFX R7 250X ($79.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...0716&cm_re=xfx_r7_250x-_-14-150-716-_-Product
    PSU: Corsair CX500 ($54.89-$20 MIR) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...27&cm_re=corsair_cx500-_-17-139-027-_-Product
    RAM: Crusial Ballistix Sport 8GB ($32.99): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...al_ballistix_sport_8GB-_-20-148-544-_-Product
    Case: Rosewill FBM-01 ($29.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_re=rosewill_fbm-01-_-11-147-123-_-Product
    WiFi: Rosewill RNX-N150PCe ($11.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...e=rosewill_rnx-n150pce-_-33-166-047-_-Product

Total comes out to $296.97 after MIR.

IMO, it's not worth it to go that low.

Where did you see it? That would help others determine how they got where they got the price budget at?

i7 will cost you you should go only to i5 if on budget.

8gb is the norm now especially if your O/S is 64bit

This is something one should have but making a SSD Main drive 250gb will more then suffice for boot drive

Some motherboards come with built in wifi as well so look for those

I really doubt you can reuse a emachine if the mounting points are not standard as well as the backplate.

They are a good place to start to figure how much it will cost. Sometime look for refurbished computers that might work for you as well if your on a budget.

My guess is Linus Tech Tips Scrapyard Wars on Youtube. Those parts were sourced locally from Craigslist and other Canadian equivalents.

I think Jarhead nailed it. Just consider an SSD for your OS, you will be happy you did. Something like this Adata 120GB for $39.99: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211983

You can always add more RAM and a faster CPU and GPU later based on your budget.

The one thing you have to consider is the OS. Do you have an OS? If not then you'll have to buy that too, assuming this will be a Windows machine.

Definitely agree on having the OS on a SSD if you have the money for it. Though personally I'd spend a bit more and go with Samsung/Crucial/Intel. Basically, any SSD with a trustworthy controller.

Yep, I was going to mention that but figured OP is in ultra cheap mode.
