If the pricing structure holds true, AMD is looking very attractive, depending on performance of course. I used to really like AMD .. many years ago.

I had AMD many tears ago as well, I have bought Nvidia for at least ten years though and all from EVGA, They have amazing support and there would have to be a significant price/performance ratio for me to change but if there is some real competition comign out it's good for all of us.

I hope at the very least, if Ryzen is as good as the hype, that Intel's prices will drop. They need some competition.

That's a big "if" and I do hope it gives iNtel a run for their money as well then we will see affordable prices for builders. But til I see it on the market and how it performs. I'll have to keep my expectation down. -

It's weird, I never really buy AMD, but I'm always excited when they bring something to the table so that they drive competition in technology and prices. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Gotta love that logic!
"I hope AMD's new CPU is great and will give some competition to Intel, so they would drop their prices and I will be able to buy Intel CPU cheaper."

I never really felt the need to switch, but monopoly stagnates a brand. Gotta have someone there to light a fire under them every so often.Atma likes this. -
I used to be a staunch supporter of AMD. Then they quickly fell flat on their face and haven't been competitive at all since probably 2012.

Maybe to focus on consoles? I was seeing articles all last year about the 'return of pc gaming', maybe AMD is just going where the money is.Atma likes this.
