    Seriously speaking, is AsRock as good as Asus?

    I've been hearing Asus for very long time (many years). Even though I do not look at news about hardware, I know that they are well-known.

    What about AsRock? I 've heard about their name only in recent years but they are very much recommended and it looks like they are even more focusing on motherboards than Asus

    by the way, does AsRock have a LGA1155 mATX board now that also supports SATA III ?

    It's hard to tell. Asus motherboard are great when they work, but sometimes have QC issues.

    ASRock is a similar story. You see for some reason most motherboards don't have very positive reviews. They both are fine though.

    The augmented product benefits are what set ASUS apart from their competitors, in my opinion. For example, the RMA process is easy as cake and they don't question you. That's why I'll always choose ASUS, even if it costs a little more.

    Asus support here is surprisingly good here, after I left the message about technical problems, they called me back in an hour which is very rare,

    however, I have doubt about the quality of ASUS product. My ASUS board failed in two years.

    I'm glad to hear there are some people having good luck with ASUS support. I've only ever had 1 bad ASUS mobo out of literally 7 or 8 that I've owned now, and I bought it at a local store and I quickly swapped it out with a new one because of my direct replacement plan.

    I know on my Asrock board Z97 extreme 6 that the HDD light no longer works but the system is ok because I tested the LED indicator by connecting it to power and it lights. So that is something I found in owning this board so far.

    that's just jibberish from other brand's fanboys. i've only had 1 personal experience with Asus CS and they were just as helpful as any other good major brand out there. i have nothing negative to say about their CS.

    Asus has the largest world wide sales of any motherboard manufacturer. that, alone, should tell u something.

    Oh I know they have good products and the people saying they have bad customer support don't deny that they have good products, they just say that if you get unlucky and get aa broken product, ASUS has bad support.

    The more customers you service, the more complaints you'll see. If ASUS services 1 million customers a month, and ASRock services 500,000 - both averaging a 3% failure rate - ASUS will have 30,000 potential complaints compared to ASRock's 15,000... That doesn't mean ASUS offers a worse product than ASRock, it just means they see more complaints due to a higher volume in sales.

    There are many, many things to consider to accurately determine which is better. When I recommend something, I'm just speaking from personal experience. Doesn't make me right or wrong... There's some luck involved. However, having built dozens of rigs with ASUS motherboards, I'd say they offer a good product and service (in America).

    i take negative internet reviews with a grain of salt. i never believe them 100% unless it's from a reliable/well known source. negative user reviews are usually typed when the person(s) is full of emotions and that will skew their thought process. oftentimes, general consumers did something wrong, or bought an incompatible item (without even knowing it), and will blame the company for a bad product.

    +1 on what J.Dre said.

    i guess i've been lucky throughout my years of buying electronics because i've rarely had to RMA or call up customer service. i think some of that luck has to do with doing lots of research before purchasing and sticking to major companies. sometimes saving a couple of bucks just isn't worth it when u can go with a tried and trued product that will provide that peace of mind factor for u.

    I mean, to be fair, I never said that ASUS has a higher failure rate. I just have always heard that they have poor customer service, and that EVGA has amazing customer service. I would imagine that both have similar failure rates for comparable products but the idea that you will only hear bad things about companies is not always true. EVGA has proven that with their customer service.

    Don't get me wrong, I love ASUS, I have 4 ASUS monitors right now as well as 4 ASUS motherboards, but I'm still afraid of their support from what I have heard.

    Had zero issues with my Asrock X99X board for 2 years now. Was my first time using them after being an MSI and Asus board user. I've been impressed and will probably stick with Asrock in the future. Solid BIOS and never had a single hiccup with my overclocks.

    Can't comment on their support as I've ever had to talk to them.

    I've not seen too many issues with either, I slightly prefer ASUS from more exposure to their boards, but otherwise I'd say you're fine whichever you go with.

    Tbh, both are good... For me though, I would personally get Asus, always been a ROG fan and it just gives you that bit extra comfort in your mind in case something ever went wrong!

    Asrock was spun off Asus some time ago (this explains the similarity in their logos and names). I recently purchased an Asrock E3C236D2I board for my home server—it came neatly packaged, with no bells and whistles, just what was essential, and the board itself appeared to be of high quality. Basically, their obscurity leads to suspicion, but vendors such as Asrock, Biostar, Zotac and Palit are all very popular in Asian countries.

    Also since they're not really selling a brand, you can usually find better deals on them.
