    Why do older gen graphics cards cost more than the current gen cards?

    I find it a little weird how I see some GTX 780s costs as much or more than a 1080 or a 980. Older Gen Intel CPUs are priced slightly lower than their successors.

    If they're anything like mobile, they start getting more expensive as they get harder to source. So steady until production stops and then rapidly increase until there are none left. It's worse with mobile mxm GPUs, I think I saw 580Ms going for over a grand before they were all gone.
