    Hello again,

I will keep this thread updated with my progress for the people who want to attempt similar enhancements on their Vaio laptops.

After doing some research I have decided to buy a GTX 750 TI. It's seems that the Mini PCI-E adapter is better suited for 2 GB GPUs and the GTX 750 TI seems to be the bread an butter in terms of compatibility with this adapter.

However, I have seen many example of people using it with a GTX 1060 but there usually is a 20% - 30% performance decrease due to the bottleneck and not all older laptops support GPUs with memory higher than 2GB.

Still, I do not think that the bottleneck is as prevalent as some people seems to suggests. In fact the the PCIe Mini Card slot has a 2.5Gb/s serial bus ( https://www.logicsupply.com/explore/io-hub/what-is-the-pcie-mini-card-why-now/) which is equivalent to a PCI-X 2.0

I don't think that GPUs up until the GTX 780 TI are affected by being connected via the equivalent of a PCI-X 2.0 but it might have a bigger impact if you choose to go with a GTX 1060.

Will keep you updated when everything is set up.

Actually there is a bottleneck caused by the PCIe Limitation, the CPU...AND the Screen ( if you are using internal screen) you will lose 30% on a PCIe 2.0 X1 (5GB/s), and it can be worse if you are unlucky and get an unstable EXP GDC adapter which will decrease the PCIE to 1.0 X1 (2.5GB/s), in this situation, you will lose way more performance. Of course you will probably have more performance than with your integrated laptop GPU but here are the conditions to get decent performances :
    - Using External Screen ( using the internal screen will make you lose 40-50% (even more in some cases) of performance)
    - Decent CPU
    - Dont be unlucky to get an unstable EXP GDC

Hi, I would like to do the same.
    My specs are below.

I am interested in a eGPU because various Architecture modeling softwares wont run smoothly.
Could someone give me a direction please.
    Thanks
