    DIY eGPU experiences

    Now i have a problem of having my gtx detected (eGPU) but stuck with using VGA card. I can't switch it. When I disable VGA it automatically reinstall itself, and the nvidia control panel is blocked (because im in VGA mode) so I can't switch graphics card for game...

    Has anyone experienced this before? I would be in windows for 1-2 mins before it freezes? Compaction doesn't work for me either on setup 1.xx. I dropped my laptop down to 4gb ram from 8 but same problem

    Dual-gpu card already tested before & it doesn't work. This is a couple hundreds pages back.

    1) Why do you want to disabled dGPU?
    2) What is VGA card? Did you check this VGA card is dGPU or eGPU?

    How to ask help efficiently?
    Try this. Connect eGPU to notebook but do not turn ON yet. Turn ON notebook & before windows loading press F8 to halt windows loading. Turn ON eGPU & continue boot into windows.

    Yeah, when I do that it says code 12 error on the card. should I have to uninstall/disable the nvidia gt310m?

    Don't disabled Nvidia GT310M. Please post screenshot of Device Manager ( View >> Resources by connection).

    I finally got dgpu and egpu working.. but i dont want to use another monitor to run games.. Is there a way to run my gtx card on my laptop's screen?

    This is what I have - at this point in time, it's about to start windows and when the circles appear it freezes and restarts. If i do it the way you said, I boot into windows as the laptop as the primary screen, external monitor stays off and the code 12 error is on the eGPU and the nVidia dGPU is there

    If I start up your way, the card doesn't go silent, it stays loud, so I did it another way - Turn on the laptop, turn on eGPU, plug in eGPU just before windows 7 circles appear and that starts it up - it doesnt allocate the card anywhere :S

    Should I drop down to 4GB Ram now and try again?
