    Hi,
I'm looking for advice on setting up a E530 laptop with an external GPU. Unfortunately I didn't realize the model I bought lacked the discreet graphics card option, and everyone I talked to told me it would be impossible to buy the discreet graphics card and have it installed. So I'm eager, albeit nervous, to try out an eGPU system.

My Lenovo runs windows 8 64-bit, and uses a duo core Intel i5-3210M processor.
I recently upgraded it to 12gb of RAM (one 4-gig and one 8-gig card)
And now its looking like a GPU is really my only hindrance in playing some of the new games I am interested in.
My budget doesn't allow the purchase of a new system, but the GPU card I DO buy will go in the next PC i'm getting.

But right now, I need to know some of the basics. I looked over a DIY beginners tutorial, and right now I'm just lost. I don't know where a PCIe port is located, what method would be best, or even really to begin. Any help, or useful links would be nice.

Thanks for taking the time to look over my thread. If it takes me a little while to get back, don't worry, I'm just about to start school again.
