So I plan on attaching an eGPU to my HP Omen but being fairly new to this kind of thing I am not sure whether it will work or not.
I have done a bit of research and I know you need a PCI-E port and that's as far as I got. I also intend on utilising the GTX 1060 for the eGPU.
So I want to know whether this particular setup on the HP Omen will work or not
Also how much performance will be lost using an eGPU
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure there's enough space under the laptop for the mPCIe adapter to fit, and that the direction is correct?
I've been using eGPU for a year and never noticed anyone using HP Omen, there's a possibility that your TOLUD would not work with the card, requiring a DSDT Override. It's a complicated process, so make sure you know what you're getting into.
I use a GTX 1060 with an ExpressCard version of that adapter - so far it seems to be working fine.
Here are some example scores with my GTX 1060 3GB:

I believe the performance penalty compared to using a desktop is around 20%.
