EDIT: egpu now detected, however error code 12 has now emerged. How do I solve the problem?

I had the same issue, make sure that the express card is properly seated in the express card slot. Remove it and push it in there very firmly, if it can slide out without much effort it is in wrong.

So basically if it's not connected properly via express card the graphics card will not start all together? I've tried inserting the express card slot, only then the d1-d4 lights up, so I assume that the expresscard is inserted correctly.
