    Hi all,
I know this is probably asked a lot, but I really want to have an external gpu for gaming with my laptop. I read the guide, but I am still not sure if I can set this up. Any input would work wonders and I would be highly grateful!

    Here are my specs:
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @2.30Ghz
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00Gb (7.60Gb usable)
System Type: 640bit OS, x64 based processor
    Screen: 1920x1080
    Refreash rate: 60Hz
I also happen to have a secondary monitor of the same specs as the lcd screen specs above.

I was thinking of using this:
    PE4H ( PCIe passive adapter ver2.4 )
For the connection as well as a gtx Nvidia card. (is there any special ones I have to use? or will any gtx card work? I couldn't decipher the guide :/ )

Also, what kind of differences should I see between the k1000 I have now and an external GPU such as a gtx 770? Would the external card have any technical drawbacks such as speed or something related of the externalized aspect of it?
